Hugh Richard Williams' Naturalization November 4, 1851
Declaration of Intention
State of Wisconsin, County of Waukesha, Hugh Williams personally appeared before the subscriber, the Clerk of the Circuit Court for the said County, being a Court of Record and made oath that he was born in Wales on or about the year Eighteen hundred and twenty one that he emigrated to the United States and landed at the port of New York on or about the month of May in the year eighteen hundred and fifty that it is bona-fide his intention to become a citizen of the US and renounce all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State of Sovereign whatever and particularly to Victoria, Queen of Great Britain and Ireland. Subscribed and Sworn to the fourth day of November A.D. 1851 Hugh Williams

This record is important because it reinforced the date of Hugh's birth and lists his birthplace as Wales.
Hugh's naturalization papers have not been located.
